A record produced in Nederland
Fontana 6455009 approx. 1968
This is one of a few records I bought not second-hand but new from a record shop in Nederland.
Record companies Philips and Fontana were already active in Singapore and/or Malaysia.
They recorded songs from many Indonesian artists. Probably there was a also connection by the Indonesian record company Remaco ( Eugene Tan ) who had their matrices made in Singapore from the master tapes shipped from Jakarta.
This record is made for people back in Nederland, with songs already in stock from earlier records.
So it is a kind of selection in wide array.
Quite a lot of traditionals, kroncong and instrumentals on this record.
Bubuy Bulan: A Sundanese Monument composed by Benny Corda.
He was from a group of Jazz Musicians from the Philippines.
They came to Bandung in 1925 and played mostly for a Dutch audience,
who then began to appreciate Jazz music. The singer Titiek Puspa ( born 1937 ) was known as a songwriter also.
"Aku Jadi Direktur" ( Zainal Arifin ) - Alfian
- If I were a director" - Funny song, there are Dutch words in it, from the time the upper-middle class still used it now and then.
"Bandar Jakarta" - The Steps
- Jakarta Harbour - in Kroncong style.
"Terkenang Kenang" - ( George De Fretes ) - Ivo Nilakreshna
- Remembering - also in Kroncong style
"Dondong Opo Salak" - Aida Mustafa
- A traditional in Javanese language. When singing traditionals or Kroncong those artists had to obey certain rules for these songs, not fully throwing in their own style.
"Nona Manis"- Salina
- Sweet Girl - in electronic Kroncong, the band Salina similar in sound with band The Steps.
"Waktu Fajar" ( P.D.) - Orkes R. Maroeti
- At sunset - Kroncong again.
"Tannase" ( J.F.R. Pattirane ) - Yanti Bersaudara
- a song from the Moluccas.
"Teungteuingeun" ( Kosaman Djaja ) - Diah Iskandar
- a Sundanese song.
"Kisah Cinta" ( A. Rachman ) - Isnarti
-Love story -
"Lain Dulu Lain Sekarang" - The Steps
- Old times differ from the present - Another instrumental
"Kicir Kicir" - Salina
- Instrumental, reminding old music from Jakarta
"Pantai Pelabuhan Ratu" ( Zainal Arifin ) - Alfian
- The beach of Pelabuhan Ratu - This beach is on Java's south coast.
"Sapu Tangan" - Han Wen
-Handkerchief- By Han Wen, a rather unknown name
Labels:
aida mustafa,
alfian,
diah iskandar,
han wen,
ivo nilakreshna,
maroeti,
salina,
the steps,
yanti bersaudara

Aida Mustafa - Another cassette copied from an LP record
Long ago some friends recorded songs for me from their LP albums
to empty audio cassettes. Calm songs, the previous playlist being more lively
I do not have the songtitles and the usual photo of the record cover.
Instead, to enhance this playlist a reproduction of a photo from the magazine "VISTA'' 29 may 1976.
The singer Aida Mustafa depicted in Billiard Action, together with her younger sister.
The location of the billiard lounge is not far from the place where she was photographed holding a waterski about 10 years before ( 2 playlists back ) Maybe she liked the seaside.
I think these songs are from approx. 1975
Among other recordings of Mesayu Aida Mustafa are " From Asia to Africa " and " Mengapa Menangis "
( Not in my collection )

Aida Mustafa - Recorded on a music-cassette from the original LP record
This playlist is from a blank cassette with no songtitles.
I recorded it more than 35 years ago from someone who had the original LP.
I forgot to make a notation of the songtitles.
I just extracted the titles by listening to the song, so many can be wrong.:)
Songs 01, 04 and 06, are "Mandarin" in style.
To enhance this playlist I copied a photo from "Vista" Magazine 29 may 1975 where she's playing billiard with her younger sister.
She's a voice with "depth" , nice to hear.
The songs are are from 1970-72 approx (?)
01. Kesepian
02. Maafkan Daku
03. Cinta Bersemi
04. Malam Sunyi Sepi
05. Apakah Salahku
06. Mengapa Kau Membisu
07. I Never Promised You A Rose Garden
08. Jangan Begitu
09. Kenangan Mesra
