Vivi Sumanti - Cassette

I think the recording is made in 1971

The last two songs printed on the cassette are not on the audio tape.

"Ditinggal Pergi" and "Jangan Iseng" are a little bit like the "Melayu" songs composed by Zakarya and Djoko S. No info is given on the cover of this cassette so I cannot determine the real names of the composers.

Listening to "Kecapi" Sundanese sounds can be heard.

"Unkuanmu" is from Manado ( ? )

Pemilu 1971 - Various Artists

GLP 50001 ( Produced by Canary Records )
A souvenir from the 1971 elections.
Various Artists.

On the cover: from left to right: Vivi Sumanty, Tanti Josepha and the third I think is Lenny Besselaar
When the 1971 elections were held, the Golkar party made a promotional record.
For this occasion the several lyrics were altered to create songs that praised this party. Other songs are almost unchanged.

"Pohon Beringin" - Waringin Tree or Banyan Tree ( Ficus Benghalensis ) It is also to be seen on the Indonesian coat of arms as a symbol for unity and power. This tree is more remarkable for its width over its height. Manny roots hanging down from its branches, so when walking underneath its almost like entering a ghost house. See the cover of this album.
The song its vocalized by Bing Slamet, I think its an older, already existing song from the patriotic genre.
''Sataro Mama" is from North Sulawesi, Manado
"Karamako" also from Manado, in these songs the Kolintang can be heard a musical instrument from that region.
"Tanjung Ou Ulate" is from the Moluccas, whereas the above songs remained unchanged in lyrics, this one became a Golkar propaganda song.
It starts with a voice: Politics? No!! Upbuilding? Yes!
"Ole Sio" is also Moluccan-styled, without Golkar propaganda, just some patriotic words.
"Ayo Mama" again a well known song from the Moluccas, but with the lyrics changed to become Golkar all the way.
"Mari Memilih" - Let's vote! - Newly composed for this record.
"Es Lilin" - Ice Lolly - The lyrics altered to promote the Golkar party and persuade the million of Sundanese to vote for Golkar, when hearing this well known song.
"Kroncong Moritsku" an old and well known kroncong song, again the lyrics have been changed for the occasion: Let's vote!
"Kroncing Kemayoran" another kroncong song that everyone knows, the lyrics can be changed easily for all kind of occasions, in this case: Vote Golkar!
"Berbaktilah" - Devote to your country. - By Ellya Khadam who always did it the Indian way.
"Cita Cita Srikandi" also done in Indian style, warm feelings for the country are expressed, and is eager to contribute to its progress.
